today i spoke with an 11 year old boy, about life
about being human
and he told me that to a degree he is embarrassed to be human
humans he said, are consciously destroying the planet, as if we had more then one
you dear reader, me, our friends – we have to ask ourselves
“How will our grand grandchildren judge us? Will they praise us for doing our bit for the environment? Will they enjoy abundant water, to the point of waste?”
But maybe this is what being 11 is all about. Maybe it will wear off and he will become a good polluting consumer like me, and most likely you.
But I don’t remember worrying about environmental issues when I was 11.
We live in a society that does not let children vote. But socially aware children, armed with good apps, can with a push of a button find the ‘social’ and ‘environmental’ aspects of a product. And it is these same children who guide their parent’s purchases.
So you better listen company executives.
Start becoming green. The future is not ours, we are just here to protect it.
